Nitrous Oxide Course for Dentists and Dental Hygienists

  • Registration cost: $815 Dental Hygienist, $1015 Dentist
  • This course is offered on an ongoing basis with Friday sessions available. Once the registration cost is received, participants will be contacted to schedule their specific date.
  • Eligibility: This course is designed for Dentists and Dental Hygienists.
  • This postgraduate 14-hour Nitrous Oxide Sedation Training Course for Oregon Dental Professionals. It is designed for dentists and dental hygienists seeking to meet Oregon State Dental Board requirements for administering nitrous oxide sedation. This how to course prepares participants to comprehend and apply the benefits of inhalation sedation within the dental office setting and to effectively deal with medical emergencies in the dental office for sedated and non-sedated patients.
  • This program consists of 10 hours of online coursework and 4 hours of in-person lab instruction.
  • Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of completion to fulfill Oregon Board of Dentistry requirements for the Nitrous Oxide Sedation Permit.

Tammy brings over 40 years of experience in dentistry, beginning her career as a dental assistant in 1982 before transitioning to dental hygiene in 1993. She holds degrees in both fields and has balanced clinical practice with teaching for more than three decades in the Eugene/Springfield area. As a dedicated educator, Tammy is deeply committed to mentoring students and colleagues, fostering critical thinking, and promoting excellence in dentistry. She is highly experienced in course design and clear communication, with a strong focus on advancing dental education and inspiring the next generation of practitioners.

Ashley is a Lane Community College graduate with more than 15 years of experience in clinical dental hygiene across six states. As a member of the advisory board for Inside Dental Hygiene magazine, she contributes to advancing professional standards within the field. Ashley is dedicated to helping dental professionals develop precision, confidence, and competence in nitrous oxide administration.
